Connect Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals to Cavalry so your AI agent can issue store credit as loyalty points and, if you choose, look up and act on your customers' loyalty accounts.
What the integration does
The Yotpo integration has two layers of functionality.
Managed Actions are handled automatically and always follow your policies. You don't need to turn on anything extra for these.
Store credit. When Yotpo is your store credit provider, Cavalry issues store credit through Yotpo Loyalty when resolving claims, returns, and cancellations. Amounts are guardrailed by your policies.
Loyalty points. Store credit resolutions are converted into Yotpo loyalty points using your points-per-dollar rate and added to the customer's balance.
Direct API Actions expose specific Yotpo API endpoints to the AI as custom functions. They are off by default, are enabled one at a time, and are not governed by your policies or their guardrails. Only enable them when you want the AI to act outside your policies.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
Admin access to your Cavalry workspace
Admin access to your Yotpo account

Setup
Step 1: Enable the Yotpo integration
In Cavalry, go to AI Agent > Channels > Loyalty.
Select Yotpo and enable the integration.
Follow the prompts to connect your Yotpo account.
Step 2: Set your points-per-dollar ratio
In the Yotpo integration settings, set how many loyalty points equal one dollar of store credit. The default is 100 points per $1, so a $10 store credit resolution adds 1,000 points to the customer's balance.
Match this to the redemption value in your Yotpo program so customers receive the same value they would get from a standard store credit.
Step 3: Set Yotpo as your store credit provider
Go to your Shopify integration settings.
Under Store credit provider, select Yotpo.
Save your changes.
From this point on, any store credit the AI agent issues will be delivered as Yotpo loyalty points.
Step 4 (optional): Enable Direct API Actions
Open the Yotpo integration and go to the API Actions tab.
Scroll to Direct API Actions.
For each action you want, click Add (or Edit if it has already been added), review the configuration, and enable it.
Test each action before relying on it in live conversations.
Step 5: Test
Before going live, run a test conversation that ends in a store credit resolution and confirm that:
The points appear on the test customer's balance in Yotpo
The points amount matches your points-per-dollar ratio
Any Direct API Actions you enabled return the expected data
Available Direct API Actions
Important: Direct API Actions are starter templates only. They are not actively maintained or guaranteed to work, and the underlying Yotpo API may change. Review and test each one before enabling it, and adjust as needed.

FAQ
Which Yotpo plan do I need? The integration requires a Yotpo Loyalty & Referrals plan with API and integration access. Connection attempts from accounts on the free Loyalty & Referrals plan have returned errors. If you see an error when connecting, check your plan with Yotpo before contacting our team.
Do I need to enable a Direct API Action to issue store credit or points? No. Store credit and points conversion are Managed Actions and work automatically once Yotpo is connected and selected as your store credit provider.
What's the difference between Managed Actions and Direct API Actions? Managed Actions follow your policies, including limits on how much credit the AI can issue. Direct API Actions call Yotpo directly and skip those policy guardrails. Use Direct API Actions for things your policies don't cover, such as sharing a referral code or answering questions about points history.
Is it safe to enable Adjust Points? Adjust Points lets the AI add or remove points without your policy limits. If you only want the AI to give points as part of a resolution, rely on the Managed store credit flow instead. If you do enable Adjust Points, review your AI instructions carefully and test it before going live.
How are points calculated when store credit is issued? Credit amount multiplied by your points-per-dollar ratio. With the default ratio of 100, a $15 credit becomes 1,500 points.
Why isn't Record Customer Action awarding points? The action_name must exactly match a custom-action earning rule configured in your Yotpo account. Confirm the rule exists and is active in Yotpo.
How does the AI know which customer to look up? Every action defaults to the customer's verified email from the conversation.
A Direct API Action stopped working. What should I do? Because these are templates and Yotpo's API can change, open the action with Edit, review its configuration against Yotpo's current API documentation, and test again. Contact our team if you need help.
Does Cavalry offer Direct API Actions for other integrations? Yes. Direct API Actions are also available for Shopify, BigCommerce, Loop, Happy Returns, Smile.io, Attentive, Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer, Freshdesk, Gladly, ShipBob, and ShipHero. Open any of these integrations and go to the API Actions tab to review what's available. Native channels (web chat, SMS, voice, email), knowledge base integrations, and courier integrations don't include Direct API Actions.
